‘Redesigning’ an organisation with an information system is one of the strategies to remain competitive especially for a company that intends to compete in the era of a world without boundaries. However, to implement this strategy, there are few things that need to be considered such as Information System Planning, Standardization and Change Management.
Consider that you are the IT Manager of a hypermarket and you are instructed by the management team to write a proposal on how information system enables level of stock to be monitored effectively, so that there will never be shortage of supplies. The management is also interested to adopt electronic retailing concept and reach more customers and make more profit.
